2016 MOCOFB ELITE-SIX - WEEK SIX

RK TEAM PTS VOTES

1

DAMASCUS (10 1st place votes)

5-0. LW: #1

The unanimous #1 since August. This ranking looks like it will not be infringed until they battle the other team in green & gold. They host a Blake team that is having one of the program's best start. And as The Rock says, It doesn't matter. -Mike Cornejo

60 10/10

2

QUINCE ORCHARD

4-1. LW: #2

The Cougs are a constant silver medalist in the rankings this season, which isn't bad at all. They're consistent in their domination of every team they've faced. It's been like this for over a decade already. And forecast for Friday calls for a 100% chance of raining 45 points. -Mike Cornejo

49 10/10

3

SHERWOOD

5-0. LW: #3

This marks the 8th time in ten years I lost my rights to taunt the hell out of Kevin Octavious Grant. The 4A North Region is unkind and every win matters to the Warriors and MoCo 4A East rival Paint Branch. Levy and the Warriorssss have Blair (week 7) and Paint Branch (week 8) still in schedule.-Mike Cornejo

38 10/10

4

MONTGOMERY BLAIR

5-0. LW: #4

A win over Paint Branch solidified Blair's status as an elite team. That win was a first in the state title era (that began over 40 years ago). This is insane. It is a reflection of the coaches' commitment to the student-athletes in MoCo's largest school. Makes you wonder how Blair put up with lackadaisical leadership for so long. Colby and company has been a fun offensive show to watch. This program is just fans on the stands away from an edge especially on away games. This week, Blair travels to Springbrook, a team fresh of its lone victory of the season. -Mike Cornejo

33 10/10

5

SENECA VALLEY

4-1. LW: #6

Adrian Platt put Maryland on the national social media stage with his state record nine touchdowns/54 points last week. Watkins Mill on a win streak is next. And I'm left wondering Is Platt going to go at least 5 TDs? Is Grant going to steal the show? Is Kapneck taking a knee? -Mike Cornejo

13 9/10

6

RICHARD MONTGOMERY

5-0. LW: NR

The Rockets have finally garnered enough votes to enter the Top 24%. They've done a tremendous job of taking care of business, dominant in every team they must beat. RM scored 40+ points in four of their five games. The only exception was a 28-20 win versus rival Rockville. RM has an exciting offensive attack that somehow reminds me of Blair's. Ty Hebron is phenomenal on the ground and Silverstein, beyond his aerial prowess has proved to be a great commander. A showdown with demoted Northwest will be for the spot in the E6. I really thought they needed a signature win FIRST to make the list, though they have their chance at proving their ranking on Friday. -Mike Cornejo
