JAKE FUNK, DAMASCUS
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
The most dominant player I have seen in a long time. -Eric Wallich
One of the greatest players to ever come through this county. Jake is a legend and can only be compared to the greats of past years. The Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year set state records and caped his year off with a 7 Touchdown 300+ yard performance in the championship game. Jake was a unanimous pick for Offensive POY. -KG

DA'QUAN GRIMES, DAMASCUS
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Most dominant defensive player I saw all year who played both inside and outside linebacker. -Eric Wallich
One of the greatest linebackers to play at Damascus. Grimes was a 3-year starter and created explosive plays for Damascus. A very violent tackler and could line up all over the field. -KG
QUARTERBACK | SENIOR
Mark Pierce, Northwest
His strength is his understanding of the game and his ability to perform in the big stage. Without Mark, we wouldn’t have won the two State Championships. -Mike Neubeiser
Also a legend, Mark will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks in Montgomery County history and one of the most accomplished this state has ever seen. Pierce's competitiveness and drive helped propel Northwest to two state championships in 2013 and 2014 and a semi-final berth this past year. -KG
WIDE RECEIVER | SENIOR
Marcus Simms, Sherwood
Intense competitor, great football smarts; a great student of the game. Playmaking ability was on a whole new level. Last year he wanted to prove himself through stats, but this year he pursued winning... well miss him; one of the best to play for Sherwood. -Chris Grier
One of the most electrifying players that this county has ever seen. Marcus seemed unstoppable even with two people on him. The West Virginia commit had 1020 yards and 20 TD’s this past year along with 6 INTs on defense. -KG
WIDE RECEIVER | SENIOR
Ivan Nnadi, Paint Branch
One of the most explosive players I’ve ever coached. He really lived up to our expectations and then some. -Mike Nesmith
The leading receiver in Montgomery County in 2015 with 1043 yards and 16 TD’s. Ivan can do almost anything on the field and caused defenses headaches with his elusiveness and speed. Paint Branch is gaining a reputation for being “WR U” and Ivan will be one of the guys that will be talked about with the other greats that have come through the school. -KG
OFFENSIVE LINE | SENIOR
Zeph Titus, Quince Orchard
One of the best offensive linemen to come through Quince Orchard. -John Kelley
Anchor on the Quince Orchard line that paved the way for 3 all-county running backs. Titus is a leader and created great stability for Quince Orchard in the middle at his center spot. -KG
OFFENSIVE LINE | SENIOR
Michael Hite, Seneca Valley
The three-year starter was one of toughest, most athletic lineman in Seneca Valley history. Very, very reliable. -Fred Kim
One of Seneca Valley’s leaders and most reliable players. Seneca Valley had in of the most balanced offenses in all of the area and it was due in large part to Michael and the boys up front for SV. Very good athlete and a guy that loves to finish his blocks. -KG
OFFENSIVE LINE | SENIOR
Delano Myers, Damascus
The two year starter is one of the best linemen in MoCo. -Eric Wallich
One of the guys that set the tone up front for Damascus and helped to create holes for Jake Funk. Delano was a force on a dominant Damascus defense as well. -KG
OFFENSIVE LINE | SENIOR
Charlie Siarkas, Sherwood
A versatile, three-year starter who was a 2-year starter at center and guard this year.. great leader, who worked hard and never complained. Smart with the X's and O's, never had to teach him much on offense because he knew it well, he was like a coach on the field for his teammates. -Chris Grier
A dominant player on both sides of the ball for Sherwood. Charlie really brought toughness to the Sherwood line and to the team as a whole. Charlie’s background as a wrestler really showed especially with leverage and his agility. -KG
OFFENSIVE LINE | JUNIOR
Cole Cheripko, Northwest
Cole was a very physical lineman who graded out higher than any lineman we’ve had in the last five years. -Mike Neubeiser
The dominant lineman started as a sophomore on a state championship team in 2014 leading the way for last year’s Offensive POY EJ Lee. This year Northwest had a great running attack and Cole was a big reason why. With Cheripko and two of the better backs in the county returning for Northwest next year look for them to be a dominant running team. -KG
RUNNING BACK | JUNIOR
Travis Levy, Sherwood
A workhorse who was very reliable and would give you everything he's got. Even when he's banged up, he'll fight through pain for his teammates. He was unselfish and never demanded the ball or for playing time; just the ultimate team player. Travis was a two-year captain which speaks a lot about him right here. He can run, catch, block.. he was very smart. Love that kid. -Chris Grier
Travis has been a force ever since he stepped on the field as a freshman at Sherwood. Levy had a dominant season gaining over 1,600 total yards and 23 touchdowns. -KG
RUNNING BACK | JUNIOR
Adrian Feliz-Platt, Seneca Valley
One of the most dynamic players in our couty if not the state.. had tremendous explosiveness, vision, speed, quickness, and awareness. -Fred Kim
When you start as a freshman at Seneca Valley it is really safe to say that you are a special player and Adrian was finally able to show his versatility as the team grew around him in 2015. Adrian is also a junior and will have a special year next season. -KG
RUNNING BACK | SENIOR
Dominyck Sims, Wheaton
The all-time leading rusher in Wheaton history was the driving force behind our playoff run. -Ernie Williams
The past two years Sims has made Wheaton a legit threat every game they played because of his physical running style and explosion. Sims ended the year as a top 3 county rusher with 1,568 yards and 14 TD’s. -KG
ALL-PURPOSE | SENIOR
Shawn Barlow, Quince Orchard
Very dynamic player! -John Kelley
Did everything and them some for Quince Orchard. Shawn gave Quince Orchard a different dynamic in the running and passing game as well as returns. -KG
KICKER | SENIOR
Joseph Curry, Damascus
Kicked 90% of all kickoffs for a touchback and broke the school record for Extra points for a season and a career. -Eric Wallich
A very consistent kicker. Set points records for Damascus and added a great element to a great offensive team. -KG
DEFENSIVE BACK | SENIOR
Ibrahim Konate, Northwest
He's got tremendous ball skills... really really good at coming down with the ball in the air. Ibrahim led team with six interceptions; two for touchdowns. He was the guy who was always around the ball. -Mike Neubeiser
A great surprise for Northwest this year, had 6 INTs and 2 returned for touchdowns. -KG
DEFENSIVE BACK | JUNIOR
Fofie Bazzie, Quince Orchard
Has all the tools of a great skill player; his best football is ahead of him -John Kelley
Really came on in the second part of the season. Ended the season with 6 INTs and gave QO a shut-down corner. -KG
DEFENSIVE BACK | SENIOR
Chris Green, Montgomery Blair
Chris is an exceptional athlete with remarkable ball skills. He's one of those guys where- when the ball's in the air offensively or defensively- he's got a heatseeker to go get it. He's definitely one of the top five guys I've ever coached as far as ball skills. -Andrew Fields
Chris is a dynamic player at safety ending the year with 4 INTs and showed great range. Also was one of the counties best receivers. -KG
LINEBACKER | SENIOR
Martin Foray, Northwest
Martin played varsity since he was freshman, he's been a leader in the defense for the last three years; a big part of why we’ve been successful. -Mike Neubeiser
Not many people in the history of this county could have been an all-county LB and DB, but that is exactly what Martin was able to do. Very unique and Northwest used every bit of his talent. -KG
LINEBACKER | SENIOR
Jordan Hill, Paint Branch
A three-year starter.. one of the smartest players I’ve ever coached. -Mike Nesmith
The Harvard commit is one of the scariest LB in the county. Hill's physical play really set the tone for a great Paint Branch defense. -KG
LINEBACKER | SENIOR
Patrick Bernardo, Thomas S. Wootton
Patrick is one of the smartest and most physical players I've had the pleasure of coaching. -Eddie Tolliver
This kids tape should be used to teach people how to play the position. Great instincts and is devastating when he gets into the backfield. -KG

Kendall Pinales, Seneca Valley
Tremendous leader on and off the football field. Also, a brilliant football player who helped set our defensive fronts and calls in the last two years. -Fred Kim
Kendall is a competitive force loves to play the game. One of the best coverage linebackers in the county. -KG

Jacob Bradshaw, Damascus
The best on both sides of the ball I saw all year. -Eric Wallich
Could argue that he was just as good if not better than any interior lineman in the state. Caused real problems for any team because he played with great technique and leverage. -KG

Sean Green, Quince Orchard
Great playmaker on the defensive line. -John Kelley
A very explosive, dynamic player for QO. Sean was able to get into the backfield at will and really messed up opposing teams game plans. -KG
DEFENSIVE LINE | JUNIOR
Isaac Ukwu, Springbrook
Isaac is the model of what a student-athlete should be and the best defensive player I have ever coached. -Jason Lomax
Had 16 sacks last year for a very good Springbrook team. Isaac will return next year and be one of the best defenders in the area. -KG
DEFENSIVE LINE | SENIOR
Bob Jonjo, Sherwood
Very Versatile... Bob played that strong safety-hybrid style. Great with his hand on the ground, passrushing, and tackling... tremendous skillset. -Chris Grier
Really explosive off the edge as a pass rusher for Sherwood also had a great year on offense as a tight end. -KG
PUNTER | SENIOR
Owen Starheim, Damascus
He had a booming leg for a punter... also a contributor to the offense. -Eric Wallich
A valuable piece to Damascus as he was able to set up the defense in good spots and flipped field position for the Hornets. -KG
The All-MOCOFOOTBALL Team is the annual selection by the MOCOFB Team ("the committee") supported by the nominations of the Montgomery County Maryland high school football coaches. Factored in the selection/evaluation process include individual statistics, team successes versus tough competition, and coaches' recommendations.
