2016 MOCOFB ELITE-SIX - WEEK EIGHT

RK TEAM PTS VOTES

1

DAMASCUS (10 1st place votes)

7-0. LW: #1

Hornets are still firing on all cylinders. One more week until they are possibly challenged for that Top Position in the county. -JHB

QUINCE ORCHARD

6-1. LW: #2

Played in what was the barnburner of the night at Northwest and came away with the victory. Kudos to the Cougars for bending, but not breaking when the Jaguars started mounting a comeback. This team is definitely as good as billed and can see them going deep in the playoffs. -JHB

SHERWOOD

7-0. LW: #3

The Warriors went out and executed against very talented Blair team. Mbony definitely stepped up and made plays on offense, as well as the Sherwood Defense played very well against possibly the best passing attack in the county. Definitely made me a believer in this team to do some damage this year. -JHB

MONTGOMERY BLAIR

6-1. LW: #4

The Blazers suffered their first loss of the season against a Sherwood team that is on a mission. With Zokouri hurting, it's going to be up to Carter and Colby to step up and carry the Blazers forward. Nothing to hang their heads over though, but I look forward to seeing what adjustments come from this loss. -JHB

5

SENECA VALLEY

6-1. LW: #5

The Screaming Eagles are following a similar road, tearing through the 3A West, as Damascus. Currently they're on the outside looking in to the playoffs, so while divisional play seems to be miniscule, each game still matters and they can't afford to overlook any game. Just like Northwest, it's almost a must win out to make the playoffs scenario. Week 9 will be very difficult to make that possible though. -JHB

NORTHWEST

4-3. LW: #6

Devastating loss to the Cougars at home. Northwest has been known as a team that can always make adjustments come playoff time, but they have to make sure they make the playoffs first. Must win out from here on and I fully expect another Northwest/Quince Orchard playoff game in the Cougar Dome come week 11. -JHB
