DAMASCUS (10 1st place votes) 1-0. LW: #1
Dismantled Blake (0-1) 41-17 in divisional game. The "handing off" of the torch is to Gage Dickens (doesn't that sound like a superhero name?), who rushed for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns. The back-to-back 3A champs host #4 Sherwood (1-0) in a match between two of MoCo's regular season Floyd Mayweather Jrs. Outside of this week, it looks like the Swarmin' Hornets may not be challenged until weeks 9 and 10 when they face Seneca Valley and Wootton. |

PAINT BRANCH 1-0. LW: #6
Cruised through Northwood, 44-0. Panthers shutout 4 opponents last season, they're looking to top that. But they travel to Lester Stadium to play one of the best offenses in the county in 4A West regional finalist Richard Montgomery (1-0). The winner of this game should solidify Elite-6 status. |
