QUINCE ORCHARD 4-1. LW: #2
Cougars are battle-tested and proved their prowess against top Maryland team Bullis in Week 4; they're refreshed after cruising over Kennedy, 53-0. Now they host #4Paint Branch in a Game of the Week stage for Friday. |

NORTHWEST 4-1. LW: #3
The Jags were awaken to reality after a smackdown layeth by WCAC power Good Counsel. 58 points given up by Northwest is the 2nd most given up in program history (WJ scored 62 n 1998). They host Churchill coming off three straight wins; a first for the Bulldogs in three years. Northwest will have to lick their wounds because an inspired Churchill team is dangerous. |

PAINT BRANCH 5-0. LW: #4
Paint Branch is coming off a pair of survival wins against Blair (20-14) and Springbrook (28-25) to remain unbeaten. The Panthers join Damascus as the only two MoCo public unbeaten teams left. #2QO is the unquestionable favorite this Friday, and it will have to be a perfect game for Paint Branch to keep this contest close. |

SHERWOOD 4-1. LW: #5
Defeated struggling Wheaton 43-0, Warriors playing at Blair (3-2) coming off 27-7 win at Einstein. Blair's two defeats are against Elite-6 teams QO and Paint Branch. Sherwood is looking like that 3rd defeat for Blair. |

JAMES H. BLAKE 4-1. LW: NR
Bengals shocked the world with a thorough defeat of Seneca Valley, 31-6. Lots of upside with Blake hitting Elite-6 rankings including being the team to score the most points against Damascus, surviving a tough Springbrook team, then there's the back-to-back away wins against viable opponents in Poolesville and Seneca Valley. They'll host arguably the worst teams in the county this week in Northwood whom the Bengals should put 50+ that should secure them another week in the E6. Churchill in Week 7 should provide a better match. |
