QUINCE ORCHARD (16 1st place votes) 5-0. LW: #1, (with 16 1st place votes)
Jason H-B: Shut out number 4/5 complete over Clarksburg. I expect Richard Montgomery to score next week, but doesn't mean they have a shot at winning. Lee Oliver: QO may be the best team in the state, they are an unstoppable force that has yet to meet an immovable object to slow them down. "Hambonepack": With the exception of week 2, QO is averaging almost 61 points per game. "Amateragi": The Cougars seem to be magnetically attracted to the end zone. Marquez Cooper is on pace for almost 30 touchdowns in the regular season and the defense has scored more times (6) than it's been scored on (once). Can anyone disrupt this force? Coach Owens: You have to wonder who can match up with them this year. They are absolutely loaded. |

NORTHWEST (1 1st place vote) 5-0. LW: #2 (1 1st place vote)
Jason H-B: The Jaguars are still dominating on their inevitable path to the 4A Kings in week 8. Churchill is coming to town and I expect them to go down fairly quickly. Lee Oliver: Another week and another solid victory. "Hambonepack": It seems the transfers are starting to excel in their new roles but with Churchill coming to town, they may get pulled early in a guaranteed blowout win. "Amateragi": Took care of business against Gaithersburg. Should remain undefeated going into Week 8. Coach Owens: The Jags just keep rolling. The QO/NW game will be the MoCo game of the year. |

DAMASCUS 3-2. LW: #3
Jason H-B: "Revenge of the Swarmin' Hornets Tour '19" rages on as they head to Watkins Mill this week. Lee Oliver: They are now hitting their stride. They dismantled a mediocre SV team and have posted back to back shutouts. "Hambonepack": The backups have played more minutes than the starters the past 2 weeks but the Hornets should expect Watkins Mill to come out swinging. "Amateragi": The Hornets defense is one of the state's best. Will the offensively talented Watkins Mill be able to crack it? Coach Owens: The Hornets will not lose again this year. |

PAINT BRANCH 4-1. LW: #4
Jason H-B: Paint Branch have been punishing teams since their week 2 loss. They can't sleep this week as they face a talented Blake team. Lee Oliver: Another excellent all around performance for PB. They are showing they still are in the upper echelon. "Hambonepack": The Panthers go on the road to play a 4-1 Blake but at the end of this game, voters will be reminded why Blake is not ranked. "Amateragi": Shut out Wheaton as expected. The Panthers will look for a statement win against Blake. Coach Owens: The defense is amazing, the offense seems to be catching up. If the offense can be explosive, watch out. |

RICHARD MONTGOMERY 4-1. LW: #6
Jason H-B: Defeated a previously undefeated and best Walter Johnson team in my lifetime. Definitely doesn't get easier for them as they face the Kings of Moco and 4A. Lee Oliver: RM won the only ranked vs ranked game of the weekend, showing they are a team that could make some waves. "Hambonepack": Statement win over Walter Johnson! "Amateragi": Outdueled a potent Walter Johnson team. The Rockets are a long way from the top, but are the gatekeepers of the Elite 6. Coach Owens: Held off a tough WJ team to reclaim their rightful spot in the Elite 6. |

ROCKVILLE 5-0. LW: NR
Matt Miller: I think WJ would beat Rockville but undefeated can't be overlooked and the Rams have earned this spot. Jason H-B: 5-0. They fought a tough Watkins Mill team and came out on top. Life should be a little easier this week as Northwood comes to town. Lee Oliver: Are they for real or not? "Hambonepack": No-one predicted a 5-0 Rockville team but this is week 3 that they are in my Elite 6.
"Amateragi": In
2 years, the Rams have gone from 0-10 to a legitimate shot at 10-0,
although Blake and crosstown rival RM will pose challenges. |
17 LW: 7 |
13/17 LW: 6/17 |
