QUINCE ORCHARD (17 1st place votes) 7-0. LW: #1, (with 17 1st place votes)
Jason H-B: The Cougars did their best DJ Khaled impression and gave us "Another One" as in shut outs. This week is the week we've all had marked on our calendars since Spring. It's the only possible challenger to their Moco Throne left this season when Northwest steps in the Cougar Dome for what might very well be the Game of the Year. Lee Oliver: Another dominant game by QO. NW this week, this should be one of the best games of the year and a test for both squads. "Hambonepack": Quince Orchard has a bulls-eye on their back every week but NW is one of the few teams coming into the game with a quiver full of arrows. "Amateragi": QO has looked unstoppable in the past only to be humbled by Northwest. Hopefully the Cougars will be ready for a dogfight. Coach Owens: This is the last test before the third round of the playoffs. I expect them to be laser focused on Northwest. |

NORTHWEST 7-0. LW: #2
Jason H-B: Probably the most dominant game against Clarksburg in history for the Jaguars. This week is the most anticipated week of the year and the opportunity to take the crown. All questions of the Jags being contenders or pretenders will be answered as they travel to Quince Orchard. Lee Oliver: NW handled Clarksburg with ease. This is setting up a huge game this week vs. QO. "Hambonepack": We know they can talk the talk but can they walk the walk? "Amateragi": QO-Northwest is currently the county's greatest rivalry, but last year the Jaguars disappointed as they got running-clocked twice by the Cougars. Can they get reignited this season? Coach Owens: The Jags get their shot, are they worthy? |

DAMASCUS 5-2. LW: #3
Jason H-B: The "Revenge of the Swarmin' Hornets '19" Tour gave the Knights a full performance and an encore. The tour looks to rage as Blake comes to town as the special guests next week. Lee Oliver: This team is hitting its stride. Since the QO loss, Damascus has only given up 21 points. "Hambonepack": Starters first half and backups second half, rinse and repeat every week but Blake comes to town and they have been known to put up a good fight. "Amateragi": Chris Shaw is a dominant running back - and he's not the only great rusher the Hornets possess. Coach Owens: Rolling. Look out. |

PAINT BRANCH 6-1. LW: #4
Jason H-B: Congrats to Northwood for getting a score in might be the one highlight of their season. This week the Panthers better strap up and play lights out because it's definitely a heat check game as the Stormin' Warriors are coming to wage war. Lee Oliver: Big Homecoming win over Northwood. PB is playing some good ball. "Hambonepack": Huge game against a Sherwood, a team that has outscored their opponents 145-0 over the past 3 games. "Amateragi": They have the weapons, but will need everything to click to beat a hungry Sherwood team. Coach Owens: More of a struggle than I thought this week, but it could be because of their annual war with Sherwood this week. |

SHERWOOD 6-1. LW: #6
Jason H-B: Shutout a fairly decent Einstein team. This week, they intend to stake their claim as the real deal and prove that their one loss was a fluke as they head to Paint Branch. Lee Oliver: Sherwood has quietly been on a roll since their OT loss to Blake. They have posted 3 consecutive shutouts. "Hambonepack": Sherwood is looking to bully their way into the top 4 and Paint Branch just might be their next victim. "Amateragi": Cemented their elite status with a blowout win over a decent Einstein team. This week's rivalry game vs. Paint Branch will show how good they really are. Coach Owens: Since they lost to Blake, they might be the playing the best football in their division. |

RICHARD MONTGOMERY 5-2. LW: NR
"Hambonepack": The Rockets face a Rams team that just got knocked down a notch or two... three... "Amateragi": The Rockets smell blood in the water after rival Rockville was shockingly upset by Seneca Valley (which historically is a really unusual thing to say), and would like nothing more than to blow up the Rams' promising season. Coach Owens: The Battle of Rockville resumes this week and expect the Rockets to want to make a point that they do indeed run the town. |
12 LW: 12 |
11/17 LW: 8/17 |
Received Votes: WJ (6 pts, 5 votes), ROC (2 pts, 2 votes). Lee Oliver on WJ: WJ is still playing solid football and is working its way back into the Elite Six. Jason H-B on Rockville: Part of me wants to vote for Seneca Valley because they beat the Rams who beat Walter Johnson. I'll give Rockville the edge at this moment, but here comes a true test in Richard Montgomery. The Rockets are very good and only have been victims to Northwest and QO, aka the Top 2 Teams in the County. This one is going to expose someone and I can't wait.
