2019 MOCOFB ELITE-SIX - REGULAR SEASON FINALE

PRESENTED BY REHAB 2 PERFORM

RK TEAM PTS VOTES

1

QUINCE ORCHARD (17 1st place votes)

8-0. LW: #1, (with 17 1st place votes)

Jason H-B: Gutted it out and came out victorious is what was the battle of the two best teams in the county. There's no question who is the best team in the county as they look to finish the season out undefeated at Walter Johnson.

Lee Oliver: QO proved once again they can handle anyone in the state, they dominated this game, including a blocked punt and a safety that wasn't called. They are showing this could be a historic team.

"Hambonepack": The only thing between QO and playoff home field advantage is 7-1 Walter Johnson.

"Amateragi": When the going gets tough, the tough get going. QO has passed the relatively few obstacles in their path with flying colors.

DAMASCUS

6-2. LW: #3

Jason H-B: Crushed Blake this past week. The "Revenge of the Swarmin' Hornets Tour '19" looks to put on another show at Montgomery Blair this week to close out the season.

Lee Oliver: Win, win, win is what Damascus has done since week 2. Damascus beat a decent Blake team by 40.

"Hambonepack": Road trip to Blair-check...rush hour traffic-check...proper hydration-check...school buses with no bathrooms-Uh-oh.

"Amateragi": Would probably put the youth team in the second half of most games if that was allowed.

NORTHWEST

7-1. LW: #2

Jason H-B: Held QO to their lowest point total this season, but still came up short. Definitely expect this team to make the necessary adjustments come playoff time on offense. Unfortunately, Wootton is going to get the first taste of the Jaguars wrath en route to a possible playoff rematch.

Lee Oliver: Still one of the better teams in the county and state. NW will most likely have a chance to avenge this loss.

"Hambonepack": The Jaguars will let off a little steam this week with Wootton visiting.

"Amateragi": The Jags' talented offense was stymied by QO's defense, but with the right adjustments they will remain state contenders.

Coach Owens: Played QO real tough in front of one of the best crowds I've seen in MoCo. They might be the only team with a shot at QO.

PAINT BRANCH

7-1. LW: #4

Jason H-B: Cancelled any noise that any other team were the kings of Moco 4A North. I expect Kennedy to play like garbage again this week, as Mr. Kennedycavs stated last week, when they host the Panthers in the season finale.

Lee Oliver: Halted Sherwood's winning streak and beat them pretty handily. They continue to show that they are in the upper echelon.

"Hambonepack": The Panthers were tested by Sherwood this past week but they face the offensively challenged Kennedy Cavaliers who are averaging just 7 points per game.

"Amateragi": Passed the most important test of their season. Looking to make noise in the playoffs.

Coach Owens: Is this the year they make a run out of the region, I say YES!!

RICHARD MONTGOMERY

6-2. LW: #6

Jason H-B: They proved me wrong last week, pulling out a close one against the Rockville Rams. This week it should be smooth sailing against B-CC.

Lee Oliver: The battle of Rockville goes to RM. Solid win over a good Rockville team in the rivalry game.

"Hambonepack": An ugly win is still a win!

"Amateragi": Had a tough outing vs. a good Rockville squad that we may have written off too early. I think the Rockets could either upset a big dog in the playoffs or be upset themselves.

Coach Owens: Not their best effort against a valiant Rockville team. But in a rivalry game, nothing is surprising.

SHERWOOD

6-2. LW: #5

Jason H-B: Tough loss against the Paint Branch. I expect them to bounce back against Springbrook this week in efforts to prepare for the upcoming playoffs.

"Hambonepack": Springbrook comes to town this week, a must win for Sherwood so they don’t go 0-3 against the Northeast Consortium schools.

"Amateragi": The Warriors were within striking distance of Paint Branch but couldn't cash in all their opportunities. Good news for them is they have a chance to flip the script in the playoffs.

Coach Owens: They are legit. Had Paint Branch right where they wanted them and let their foot off the gas.
