Ten-year NFL veteran Chris Samuels was inducted to the Redskins' Ring of Fame today. Samuels played for ten years in the NFL; all with the Washington Redskins from 2000-2009. He started at left tackle in all 141 regular season games that he played in for the 'Skins. He was the 3rd overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft.
Samuels was a six-time Pro Bowler (2001-02, 2005-08), for the Redskins; tied with Sammy Baugh for 4th most for that honor with the club. Only LB Chris Hanburger (9x), WR/RB Charley Taylor (8x), DB Ken Houston (8x), DB Darrell Green (8x), and T Trent Williams (8x) have more selections.
Samuels played in the University of Alabama where he was an All-American and Outland Trophy winner as the year's best collegiate interior lineman in 1999.
Currently, he is in his first year as offensive coordinator for Northwest High School. The Elite Six #2 Jaguars (7-0) are averaging 41.6 points per game; ranking second in all of Montgomery County Maryland (Quince Orchard is at 54.4 PPG).
Coach Samuels was offensive coordinator for two years at Churchill under fellow NFL'er Willie Williams prior to his stint at the Germantown school.
