AFTER WEEK 8 - OCTOBER 27, 2009

LW: 27-0 W vs then #7 Seneca Valley. FRI: at Blake (3-5)

Outstanding heads-up play by a dominant "D" and a seemingly trouble-free "O" have been key thus far. As long as they remain focused, there should be no reason why we shouldn't all be standing in line for tickets to "The Bank" in December to watch one of the (if not THE) greatest show in Maryland. -G-Khan

Blake gives them good chance to rest before "bragging rights" finale with Sherwood and on to the Playoffs. -Cover2

Dominating win this past week against Seneca. In my opinion MoCo's lone hope to beat Linganore or River Hill in 3A. -bbelt22

Two consecutive shutouts for their defense.  Coach Mac must be doing a rain dance every Friday. -BigFred

Beat everybody in front of them. Those teams have beat everybody else. -Crypt keeper

After soundly beating SV they get a tune up this week before Sherwood in week 10. -moco212

Last undefeated team with a dominating performance over SV this week. DE Tyler Magill is an All County player. They've clinched a home playoff game in week 11. -millerlite8389

LW: 17-0 W vs then #2 Churchill. FRI: at #7 Springbrook (6-2)

Proved that they're still the team to beat in the 4A as they shutout(5 shutouts this season) the last unbeaten team in the 4A, Churchill. -millerlite8389

Still the Champs. Showed why after Beating a 7-0 team. -Crypt keeper

5 shutouts in 8 weeks for the county's best defense. -BigFred

Bounced back in a big way and completely shutdown Churchill for their 5th shutout of the year. -moco212

Completely shut down Churchill's potent offense this past week. Proved to me they are number 2 in MoCo.  Hope everyone has November 6th circled for their game with QO. -bbelt22

Warriors need to guard against looking to QO next week or Springbrook could sneak up on them. -Cover2

Moved up from the number 4 spot after grounding the Bulldogs in week 8. Now to remain up at the top, they have to keep Springbrook in check. In addition, the points gained from the Churchill win, along with the bonus points will definitely play in the Warriors favor come post-season. -G-Khan

LW: 14-6 W vs then #3 Clarksburg. FRI: at Magruder (3-5)

Great win this past week against Clarksburg. May end up being the #1 seed in 4A. -bbelt22

Huge win puts them back in the mix for a home playoff game. -BigFred

Is there anyone out there in MoCo-land that doubts the Panther's resolve? I hope not. These guys are really getting after it. With Magruder on the horizon this week and Springbrook the next, PB will be out to prove just how much they want a ticket north. -G-Khan

Huge statement win against Clarksburg this week. This team is extremely athletic and very disciplined. They could be very dangerous come playoff time. -millerlite8389

LW: 41-6 W vs Northwood. FRI: vs #6 Clarksburg (6-2)

In facing Clarksburg this week I believe this is the start of MoCo's newest rivalry for years to come. -moco212

They have finally showed up. The line is making holes and Brian Lucas is averaging 141 yards per game since week 2. -Crypt keeper

RB Brian Lucas continues to be solid. They're starting to look like the team everyone envisioned them to be. This team could clinch a playoff spot with a win this week against Clarksburg. -millerlite8389

With a relatively light week behind them, the Hornets now are focused on stomping on the Coyote's go-ahead-plan. This is the game of the week in my book. -G-Khan

Faced a contender in Sherwood and got pushed around. They should bounce back and clinch a playoff spot this week against BCC. -millerlite8389

Better not be looking too far a head to Lexus Bowl with Whitman.  BCC has won 3 in a row and Joe Allen is not a popular guy on East West Highway. -Cover2

Even with a loss to Sherwood, this is one proud and talented team that knows how to bounce back. They should come back with a win against B-CC in week 9. A parting one-word thought after Friday's game in Sandy Spring...REMATCH!! -G-Khan

LW: 14-6 L at then #5 Paint Branch. FRI: at #4 Damascus (6-2)

Three weeks ago against QO was the biggest game in their history. Not anymore, this week against Damascus may make or break their season. They need this win. -millerlite8389

Need to have more offense than Veith if they want to have a chance against Damascus. -moco212

Have lost 2 out of the last 3 and need a win this week to get some momentum for the playoffs. -BigFred

What a tough loss to PB in week 8. However, when you're aligned in the 3A division here in MoCo, you can't sleep at all. With QO, D-mass and the "Valley" all mentioned in the same breath, you had better come out to play each and every week. Sorry fellas but you can't lose another one in this tough crowd of talent. -G-Khan

Dark Horse for playoffs is still alive. They will make a great push for the playoffs if they can upset Sherwood this week. -millerlite8389

The Devils host the boys from Sandy Spring this week and had better come with their "A" game. Sherwood is fresh off of the win vs. Churchill and have chips on their shoulders. Can Springbrook pull an upset? With the talent on this team I think that anything is possible. -G-Khan

The Vikings dropped one against Springbrook and are now heading up to Seneca? Oh-man, this is another make-or-break situation. Can an upset be achieved this week in front of a hostile Eagle crowd? Only time will tell but with this crazy, whacked-out season, I wouldn't be overly surprised at all. -G-Khan

Better figure out a way to score or excellent defense will not be on display in Regionals. -Cover2

Lowest scoring offense of any team with a winning record in the County. They need to find an offense to have a chance against the big boys. -millerlite8389

Have only lost to an 8-0 QO 7-1 Churchill and 6-2 Clarksburg -Crypt keeper

The Screamin' Eagles would LOVE to forget week 8. But...they need to get focused ASAP for Whitman or it's light's out for a post-season. Gentlemen, it's make or break time in the "Valley." -G-Khan

The Rams rolled right over the Cavs in week 8 leading into a bye. Let's see what an extra week of prep and rest will do with Rockville as they get ready for week 10 and the Bengals. -G-Khan

Like Jerry said to Kramer "a vacation from what?"  Rams get a bye before trying to stop Blake speedster and widening Baltimore Road to handle the playoff traffic. -Cover2

They just keep winning. RB Crusoe Gongbay had 218 yards rushing with 5 total TD's. That's ridiculous! -millerlite8389
